Neuralink
An idle clicker game on mobile
About the project
Neurolink is an idle clicker mobile game where the player animates an electronic circuit by moving an energy particle with a simple click.
I completed the entire development as part of my Master 2 research thesis, focusing on the mechanisms of conditioning in idle games.
The universe, inspired by the brain's reward circuit, illustrates how an action can become mechanical, even when it has lost its purpose.
My role in the project
Design and Research
Definition of the concept based on my research work, analysis, and selection of the mechanisms to be integrated into the game.
2D Graphics and Integration
Creation of 2D assets (Illustrator), animations, effects in Unity, integration of UIs, and implementation of a particle system with collisions.
Development
Programming of interactions, the increment system, the random movement of the particle according to the player's action, and different effects related to collisions.
Tests and analyses
Progressive game development: transitioning from a simple clicker to an autonomous system combining rewards, randomness, "juicy" effects, and conditioning mechanisms.
